Position Title : Supervisor, Finance
Department : Finance
Reporting to : Manager, Finance
JOB PURPOSE / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Finance Operations Management:
  • Supervise day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial transactions.
  • Review and verify supporting payment documents including staff reimbursements, employee advances, and advance clearances. Ensure all transactions are properly supported, approved, and accounted for before payment processing.
  • Ensure timely settlement of payments to stakeholders.
  • Monitor payment controls and ensure payments are made only to authorized beneficiaries.
  • Ensure all accounting activities are performed in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Identify, investigate, and escalate suspicious or unusual transactions to management.
  • Maintain proper documentation and record retention for accounting and payment transactions.
  • Handle Bank related matters including Bank Account Opening, Updating bank signatories, Updating Internet Baking etc.
General Ledger and Financial Control: 
  • Ensure accounting entries are recorded properly that is aligned with accounting standards and attached during payment processing.
  • Ensure proper account classification, cost allocation, budget coding, and financial reporting treatment.
  • Monitor general ledger balances and investigate unusual transactions or variances.
  • Support the implementation of process improvements, automation initiatives, and accounting policy enhancements.
Month-End and Year-End Closing:  
  • Ensure assigned month-end closing activities and ensure completion according to established deadlines.
  • Ensure journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments are properly recorded before financial reporting submission.
  • Ensure assigned balance sheet items reconciliation quality and proper supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve outstanding accounting issues during closing periods.
Compliance and Internal Control: 
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate policies.
  • Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting and accounting processes.
  • Monitor adherence to delegated authority and approval matrices.
  • Support internal and external audit activities, including audit schedules and documentation.
  • Address audit findings and implement corrective action plans.
Tax Compliance Support:
  • Ensure invoices, tax invoices, and supporting documents comply with GDT requirements and company policies to minimize tax exposure and non-deductible tax expenses.
  • Review tax-related transactions and identify potential tax risks, providing recommendations for corrective actions when necessary.
  • Keep up to date with new tax regulations, GDT announcements, and changes in tax compliance requirements.
Process Improvement and Ad Hoc Project:
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Support system upgrades, and accounting automation initiatives.
  • Promote best practices in accounting operations and financial governance.
  • Participate in and execute assigned projects, ensuring timely completion and achievement of project objectives.
Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate with business departments to ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions and sufficient supporting documents to support payment processing.
  • Support management with financial data and operational insights.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, regulatory authorities, and banking partners as required.
  • Coordinate audit responses and prepare required documentation to support external audit requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CAT or ACCA pursuing, or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage.
Experience:
  • 3 - 4 years of accounting experience, including general ledger and financial reporting responsibilities.
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in multinational companies, or financial services is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
