Daiichi Life has been awarded the “International Life Insurer of the Year - Cambodia” for the 2nd consecutive year as the event ceremony took place on July 9th, 2024, at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore.
The Insurance Asia Award is widely recognized as the most prestigious awards program in the Asia Pacific region. Highlighting the hard work, dedication, and innovation of companies, the awards acknowledge those that go beyond the ordinary, significantly influencing the lives of their customers through exceptional insurance solutions.
Mr. Mah Kin Yoong, Acting CEO of Daiichi Life, shared “We're proud to win this award again. This would not have been possible without all our team members, whose dedication has been the driving force behind our success. We also appreciate the continued trust and support of the regulator, loyal customers, distributors, and partners. This collaborative effort aligns well with our group’s purpose - partnering with you to build a brighter and more secure future. This is also a memorable achievement for all of us as it coincides with our 5th anniversary here in Cambodia.”
Rapid Growth and Expanding Reach
Over the past 5 years, Daiichi Life has paid out over $450,000 in claims and bonuses and protected over 20,000 customers and their families. Cementing our long-term commitment in Cambodia, on top of the current 3 branch offices and 3 training centers, we are now expanding the training centers to 2 more provinces. We have also continued making great progress from September last year by leveraging their one-of-a-kind Japanese training programs, recruiting over 200 full-time and part-time professional agents which has not only allowed us to help create more jobs but also expanded financial security for more Cambodian families.
Product and Services Innovation for Growing Local Needs
Recognizing the evolving customers’ needs, we launched a new product called ‘EASYCare’ in April this year to address the gap in life insurance accessibility. The product is customized based on the need for affordable, quick, and easy-to-purchase plan, making life insurance more inclusive for wider Cambodians.
Increasing Strategic Partnerships
In just five years, we have established four partnerships with Vattanac Bank, Sacombank, RHB Bank, and AMK Microfinance Plc., allowing us to foster financial inclusion in Cambodia. On top of bancassurance partnerships, we have also established new partners, such as the recent MOU signing with Think Think Cambodia and Japanese International School of Phnom Penh (JISPP).
Improving the Community’s Well-Being
Daiichi Life also continuously supports various causes in the community, reflecting that we truly care for the community we serve. Our most recent donation was to Japan Heart to support medical care and treatment for patients and build a new hospital building in Kandal province.
