Daiichi Life has launched the inaugural Daiichi Junior Cup, a grassroots football tournament designed to empower Cambodian children through sport and healthier living. Endorsed by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MOEYS) and the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), the initiative reflects Daiichi Life’s mission — from protecting life to empowering life.

This first edition lays the foundation for a recurring annual tournament, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to youth development and community well-being.

The tournament runs from May to August across Phnom Penh, Battambang, and Siem Reap, culminating in a grand final in August. The official launch took place at NOCC on May 1, 2026, attended by H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State of MOEYS and Secretary General of NOCC; Dr. Hor Sovathana, Deputy Director General of the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia; Mr. Mah Kin Yoong, CEO of Daiichi Life; and Mr. Seng Sopheak, CEO of PEAK Digital.

H.E. Vath Chamroeun shared: “Grassroots football is an important pathway for youth development in Cambodia. The Daiichi Junior Cup supports our Ministry's Education Strategic Plan 2024-2028, which promotes sport as a foundation for education, discipline, and national pride. Through initiatives like this, we ensure Cambodian children grow into healthy, resilient citizens who contribute to the future of our nation.”

Dr. Hor Sovathana added that today's initiative reflects the contribution of the insurance sector that can go beyond financial protection to build healthier, more resilient communities, as well as building healthy, discipline, and ethical human capital for Cambodia.

“At Daiichi Life, we are proud to empower the youth of tomorrow through community football,” said Mr. Mah Kin Yoong. “Together, we are building a brighter, healthier future for children and communities.”

Organized in partnership with PEAK Digital, the Daiichi Junior Cup brings together schools, families, and local clubs to foster active lifestyles and stronger community bonds.
